7 Pointers to Check in CAT Admit Card 2018

CAT admit card 2018 will be made available for download from October 24 on the official website of IIMCAT. Candidates who have successfully registered for the CAT 2018 exam can download their respective admit cards from the official website from 1 pm onwards by using their CAT 2018 login ID and password.

CAT 2018 aspirants must remember that hard copies of the admit card will not be sent by post, hence they must download their CAT admit cards from and take out a print of the same. The CAT 2018 admit card can be downloaded till the CAT exam day, which is November 25, 2018.  

How to download CAT Admit Card 2018?

To download the CAT 2018 Admit Card, follow the below mentioned steps:

  • Visit the official website of IIMCAT
  • Enter your CAT 2018 registration ID and password
  • Click on CAT 2018 admit card tab
  • Download the CAT 2018 admit card
  • Take a print out of it

The CAT 2018 admit card will have following details printed on it:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Test Date
  • PwD status
  • Registration Number
  • Date and time of the exam
  • Instructions regarding exam

Since CAT admit card is the most important document for appearing in the CAT exam, it is mandatory for each candidate to have error free admit card. Even a slight error on your admit card can cost you dearly.

There is a possibility of errors on your CAT 2018 admit card. In such a scenario, do not panic. The provision to get errors rectified is available to each candidate.

  1. Name of the candidate: Your name should not be misspelt. Your name must be spelt same as on your birth certificate or secondary ID proof you will be carrying to the exam hall.
  2. Registration number: CAT registration number is the most important piece of information for any CAT aspirant. The CAT registration number printed on your admit card must be same as your registered user ID for CAT 2018.
  3. Date of Birth: The date of birth mentioned on your CAT admit card must be the same as that on the CAT application form and the secondary ID proof you will be carrying to the exam hall.
  4. Birth Category:  The birth category status should be valid. In case of invalid category, you may be barred from writing the exam.
  5. PWD/ DA: If you have filled the CAT 2018 application form under PWD/DA category, the status mentioned on the admit card should be same. This is necessary for such candidates to be able to avail facilities offered to them at the exam centre.
  6. Test city and test centre: You must ensure that the test city allotted to you is one of the four cities you mentioned in the CAT application form.  
  7. Photograph: Your photograph on the CAT admit card must be clearly visible and same as the one you uploaded with the CAT application form.

How to rectify errors in CAT admit card

In case your CAT 2018 admit card has error/s or you are unable to view your admit card after logging in, you must contact the CAT 2018 helpdesk. You will be given assistance in resolving your admit card related issue immediately.

CAT 2018 candidates are advised to download the CAT 2018 admit card from the recommended browser and not from your mobile phone.

  • Internet Explorer (version 11 and above) or
  • Mozilla Firefox (version 50 to 61) or
  • Google Chrome (version 50 to 69)

CAT 2018 exam day instruction:

  • It is mandatory to carry a print out of your CAT admit card. Digital printouts of the admit card are not acceptable
  • Carry a secondary ID proof to the exam centre
  • Reach your exam centre an hour before the exam starts
  • Paste the same photograph on your admit card, which you had uploaded with the CAT 2018 application form
  • Do not sign the admit card beforehand. The admit card is to be signed only inside the exam hall in front of the invigilator
  • Do not to carry a mobile phone, calculator, IPad or any other gadget to the exam hall. Such items are prohibited
  • Do not carry bags or luggage to the CAT 2018 exam centre as you may not find any provision to keep it safe. 

Below is the list of documents you can carry as ID proof:

  • Aadhar card
  • Voter ID
  • Passport
  • College/University ID
  • Driver’s license
  • Or any other identity proof issued by the Government of India
