Healthy Ways to Start the Day

0

When you start your day off properly, the remainder of your day is much easier than it might otherwise be. That’s why you must establish some healthy habits that begin first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake up in many cases. Doing this will make you feel happier, healthier, and more productive as the morning transitions into the afternoon and the afternoon transitions into the evening.

So how can you get this good start to the day? There is no right or wrong way to do it, and how you begin your day will be determined by your personal preferences, and goals. That being said, here are some of the healthiest habits to help you start the day properly that you should think about.

Don’t Use Your Smartphone Alarm

If you are one of the many people who use their smartphone as their main morning alarm, you might want to reconsider and invest in a dedicated alarm for your bedside table instead. Why? Because if you use your smartphone as an alarm, you are more likely to begin your day by checking your messages or browsing endlessly through your social media.

This might not seem to be a huge issue but beginning your day with technology is not the greatest way to start. It will instantly overstimulate you, possibly stress you out, and set you up with a reactive mentality rather than a proactive one, which will not improve your productivity levels. Try to avoid using technology during the first hour after getting up; your day will be a lot more pleasant, calm, and productive as a consequence.

If you think that the problem doesn’t lie with using the phone itself, but what you are using while on it, then make sure to spend this first hour differently. For example, rather than scrolling through social media, why not gain a greater understanding of UFOs or by reading the daily news? By researching UFOs, for example, you can enjoy your morning routine with your phone, learn something new, and not become stressed out.

Drink A Glass of Water

Drinking a glass of warm water, preferably with a slice of lemon, should be one of the first things that you do when you get up each morning. This can help you rehydrate after a good night’s sleep while also providing you with a vitamin C boost, making you feel healthier and more awake.

We become sluggish, tired, troubled by headaches, and unable to work as effectively as we could if we don’t drink enough water, so by beginning the day with a glass of water, we can truly set ourselves for success.

Make Your Bed

If you’re one of those people who seldom bother to make their bed when they get up in the morning, you may want to reconsider. The reason for this is because developing the practice of making your bed every morning will have a big impact on your day by establishing the proper tone for the day.

When you make your bed, it means that you have already done something productive as soon as you get out of bed. It may be something small, but that sense of achievement will stick with you, help you take control of your life, and motivate you to do even more. Essentially, it aids in getting the ball rolling on a productive day, which is always a good thing.

Meditate

Meditation is another good morning habit that, when practiced regularly, can help you feel more positive. You will be able to regulate your emotions better, reduce your stress levels, and find more serenity in your day-to-day life if you practice some kind of mindfulness meditation first thing in the morning before you start your day.

Meditation is very simple to learn and can be completed in as little as ten minutes each day, so include it into your morning routine if you want to substantially enhance the way you feel in the morning.
